“Prayers, Praise and Your Promises”
VERSE:
Lord it seems like only yesterday I was but a lonely teenage girl,
The night my earthly father died, sent my life spinning into a raging whirl.
The Holy Spirit grabbed me by the heartstrings that led me to Psalm 121,
It was that very moment, You started something inside to make me oh strong.
As I read through that chapter and stayed up until the break of dawn,
My eyes were focused on You alone and I wrote my very first song.
I realized so much would change, and life would never be the same,
So I lifted my eyes up to Heaven, as I cried out in my sorrow and my pain.
CHORUS::
Lord I’m so lost right now and I don’t know what to do.
I know you’ll be with me, the Bible tells me true.
Be with my Mom, my siblings and the rest of our family,
Let the prayers, praise and your promises come, to keep me strong as I hold onto thee.
VERSE:
I’ve had to revisit that Psalm Lord, so many, many times.
Like when You called my Mom by name, or when I barely had a dime.
Through life and death my journey keeps molding and shaping me into who I am,
,With each good time and trial I’m so glad to know you are the Great I Am.
Thank you for my marriage, my daughter and her son,
Oh how blessed I am, to have them every day, in the rain and the sun.
And as I walk behind your footsteps each morning, noon and night,
May the power of your blood equip me to stay strong with all of my might.
CHORUS:
Lord I’m so lost right now and I don’t know what to do.
I know you’ll be with me, the Bible tells me true.
Be with me my Good Father, and my sweet friends and family,
Let the prayers, praise and your promises keep me singing and holding onto thee.
VERSE;
Jesus, you have blessed me with sisters near and far away,
One is my blood and she’s a keeper each and every day.
The others are my prayer warriors and how they bless me from head to toe,
I ask You Lord to bless them all as they daily seeking You, please let it be so.
Time after time, I see your hand upon my life,
As a daughter and a sister, a mother, grandma and a wife.
Lord, please help me follow You as days go by so fast,
So that I’ll see you face to face when my breath’s no more and it’s my very last.
CHORUS:
Lord, I’m not really lost, because I know I’m your child,
Your grace, love and mercy has no blemish, it’s simply undefiled.
Let my life and my legacy forever stay hidden behind your cross,
Let my prayers, praise and your promises continue to reach the saved and the lost.
Yes the prayers, praise and your promises forevermore will simply be…
As I humbly ask You Jesus that this be my lasting legacy.
