There have been a lot of different things on my mind lately, as I’m sure there are for many of you. With the way our world, our nation, and even our hometowns are spinning on their axels, about ready to break, there is much to be concerned about and rightly so.
These thoughts have led me to ask the important “What if” scenarios that effect us all, but most assuredly, they effect every non-believer that is living today. So let me begin…
To the non-believers in this world: “What if there truly is a God, Creator of Heaven and earth, and you simply refuse to believe that One universal being could create all things?” You simply are taking the biggest risk of your life, and science has become your God. God created the beginning of all things in six days, and He rested on the seventh day, hence a week was born. The Holy Bible says we are created in His image. He created only two genders: man and woman…that’s it! He also decided that His only begotten Son, Jesus, would be born as a babe in a manger, live a life as a man, and then bear the wrath of God for all the sins of the world. Jesus died the most cruel death on the cross of Calvary, but rose on the 3rd day. He is alive and well today, and He keeps waiting for those who do not yet believe in Him, to begin a relationship with Him that lasts forever…did you read that? Forever! If there isn’t a God, and you have committed yourself to the power of salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, you’ve lost nothing. But if there is a God and you deny Jesus as Savior, you will lose everything and eternal damnation in hell awaits you after your earthly days are through.
“What if there is no Heaven or Hell?” Where would we go after our earthly life ends? I guess some believe we just get buried and that’s it, or our ashes are scattered and we no longer are thought of. Hum. I’m curious though, how did the phrase, “Oh go to hell! (usually spoken in anger at someone), even come into existence? Surely, someone, somewhere had to know that hell was not a good place to be, don’t you think? Some people feel like they are already living in hell here on earth…not even close. Satan is the prominent figure in the lake of fire, that is full of demons, all that is evil and wicked, and he awaits with drooling lips for those who fall into his trap of unbelief. What a sad state of affairs and even sadder to think that God has built a mansion in Heaven, just waiting for those who believe in Jesus to arrive when He calls you home for eternity, and yet some will miss the great homecoming. Torment by fire…or a mansion on a hill, where joy, peace, no more tears, darkness, pain, suffering exist. I wouldn’t think it would be that hard to choose…but I’m just one little voice…who loves my big and almighty God.
Here comes the hard part for those of us who have been called by His name, believing Jesus the Son of God, is the Worthy Lamb, who forgives our sins when we repent, learn to follow Him all the rest of our earthly days, that will lead us to permanent victory in Heaven…”What if each of us decided to share the gospel and message of salvation, with one new person each day, for as long as we have breath on this earth?” I am speaking to myself here first, and my brothers and sisters afterward. There are roughly 2.44 billion evangelical, God fearing, Jesus believing Christians in the world today. Can you imagine the seeds we could sow, and the potential harvest of new believers that could be brought into the kingdom of God? It is a phenomenal, mind blowing equation, and one that should speak to the heart of every follower of Jesus Christ.
“What if we knew in advance, the day, time and year of The Rapture and the return of Jesus Christ? Would it make a difference in how we approach people and the topic of salvation? I would hope so. But, since we don’t have that luxury because it is information that is not meant for any human to know in advance, can we consider this much…”What if we stay silent and the non-believers we know and love, are taken away by an accident, disease of any kind, murder or suicide, how then can we survive the heartbreak that follows? Only God can comfort us, even when we blew the opportunity that fear kept us from doing the right thing.
There is an appointed time and place for each human to be born and to die. God knows the beginning and He knows the end for each one of us. The time we spend from the beginning and end is short lived, compared to eternity. I am praying to start taking a bolder stance for Jesus Christ, get out of my comfort zone, and stop cowering to the enemy who wants to fill me with fear. God is my strength, my armor, my defender and He has blessed me richly. It’s about time I show Him my greater appreciation by standing on the promises of God that are written in His holy Word…the one and only Holy Bible. Thank you Jesus for the sacrifice you gave of yourself for the world, and for me.
